The Fill handle in excel is used for drag-and-drop editing. By default it is turned on in Excel so that you can drag the mouse to move and copy cells by doing the following:
- Move a cell or a range by dragging the cell or range
- Copy cell or range of cells by holding down CTRL
- Drag the fill handle to copy data or to fill adjacent cells with a series of data
I will walk you through the example to enable it in this tutorial. Go to File and Click on 'Options'
You will see a window like the one below. Choose 'Advanced' from the left menu as
Once the below options are displayed
Click on the checkbox highlighted above, like below and click ok
You will be able to see the 'Fill' handle on the sheet now.
